Class of 2019

Class II Newsletter #2

  • You can access the online version of the College Counseling Handbook that you received during the College Weekend by logging in to your myMilton (where you access attendance and course registration) and following the link to the handbook. We expect you to be familiar with all material in the handbook; it answers many of the questions you might have.
  • Weekly sign-up sheets for appointments with the counselors are posted in the College Office (on the file cabinets in Mrs. Dunnington’s office, the first office on the right as you enter Straus). You must come in to the office to find a time that works for you and your advisor.  Please do not email your counselor for an appointment time.  New sign-up sheets are posted every Thursday morning at recess for the following week’s schedule.  We expect all Class II students to complete the first required meeting with a counselor by March 8.

For your first meeting…

  • You will need to turn in your completed Student Response Form (SRF) 24 hours before your meeting.
  • The SRF is in the materials you received at the college program. We strongly encourage you to use a computerized version of the SRF.  It is posted on the Milton website at milton.edu under “Academics – College Counseling – Resources – Class II Resources – Forms and Applications.”  (The Parent Response Form (PRF), which was also included in the materials handed out at the college program, can be found in the same location should your parents prefer a computerized version.)
  • Your advisor should attend your first scheduled meeting. (Please provide your advisor with a copy of your SRF prior to the meeting.)  It is your responsibility to find out your advisor’s free periods and schedule a meeting accordingly.  If your advisor cannot come to the first meeting, he or she should come to your second college meeting, which we expect all Class II students to complete by April 13.
  • If you want help with course selection, stop in anytime to talk to any college counselor who is available.
